Introduction

Mood Radio is a personal project developed by Jon Mourolin. This Privacy Policy explains how the Mood Radio application ("App") handles your information. Your privacy matters, and the App is designed to collect as little data as possible.

Information We Collect

Mood Radio does not require any user account or registration. We do not collect your name, email address, or any information that directly identifies you.

However, the App uses anonymous analytics to understand how it is used and improve the experience. The following data is collected automatically:

Usage events — which streams you play, pause, or stop, and whether you open the discovery modal.
Screen views — which screens you navigate to within the App.
Device information — operating system, app version, screen size, device model, and locale. This data is collected in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally.
Anonymous identifier — a randomly generated ID stored on your device to distinguish unique sessions. This ID is not linked to your identity.

We do not collect:

Names, email addresses, or contact information
Precise location data
Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking
Any content you did not actively provide

Analytics Provider

We use PostHog as our analytics provider. Data is processed on PostHog's European Union servers (eu.i.posthog.com) and is subject to PostHog's Privacy Policy.

On the web version of Mood Radio, PostHog may set a cookie or use local storage to persist your anonymous session identifier. On native apps (iOS/Android), this identifier is stored locally on your device.

Audio Streaming

The App streams audio content from third-party radio servers. When you listen to a stream, your device connects directly to the streaming server to receive audio data. This connection is subject to the streaming server's own privacy practices, which are outside the control of Mood Radio.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services for its core functionality:

AzuraCast — Provides the audio streaming infrastructure and track metadata.
OpenAI API — Used server-side to generate track descriptions. No user data is sent to OpenAI; only publicly available track metadata (artist name and track title) is transmitted.
PostHog — Anonymous product analytics, hosted in the European Union. See PostHog's Privacy Policy.

Data Storage & Retention

Analytics data is stored on PostHog's EU servers and is retained for the duration necessary to fulfill the purposes described above. The anonymous session identifier is stored locally on your device and is never shared with third parties other than PostHog.

Mood Radio does not maintain its own user database. The App may use your device's local storage to remember playback preferences (such as volume level). This data never leaves your device.

Your Rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar laws, you have the right to:

Request access to the data associated with your anonymous identifier
Request deletion of your analytics data
Object to the processing of your data

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at contact@moodradio.fr. Include your anonymous identifier if possible (available in your browser's local storage under the PostHog key) so we can locate your data.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
